THIS IS PROBABLY the second oldest profession in the world.... switching  the product you desire for a lesser or more costly version. In the case of telephony, it occurs when a long distance carrier changes you to their service without your knowledge or approval.

Although it seems AT&T mastered the “art” of slamming, both MCI and Sprint soon learned all the ropes. And they were followed in quick order by carriers no one ever heard of!

But you can fight back! The Federal Communications Commission has established guidelines to help you recover from slamming... and make a profit on the deal!
